SKY TV problems

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they have had the same issues as I have had since last night.

Watching Sky no problems, went to delete from the hard drive and then back to normal channels, and it came up with

This channel is experienceing technical difficulties, please try again later.

Still the same this morning,

Can scroll through channels, can look at what is on the H/D but not watch anything at all, freezes on planner and comes up with above message on "normal" channels

Can still press the Information button to see the programme synopsis, anyway rang sky and sending an engineer out on Sunday pm.... so no tv all weekend ???

Anybody got any ideas that I could try or anybody had this issue before and what was the outcome?

Many thanks

  • You need to do a full reset,
    Press:
    Services
    4
    0
    1
    Select

Then select Sky+ Planner Rebuild. Once confirmed you'll be presented with the HOUSEKEEPING screen. This then reboots. Wait a minute or two and then swtich back on. You won't lose any recordings, series links, etc.

this is a commen problem, give it a go.

i presume you have tried the old trick of take the card out, unplug it then plug back in, turn on and put card back in when told to?
  • The old on off trick is for normal boxes, I just read on a sky+ box problems site that it may take up to 4 resets to fix software problems, http://www.simplydigital.co.uk/articles/sky-digital-fault-finding.htm

the on/off trick works with our sky+ box just like it did with the old regular box.

yes, that must be for when it crashes, not the recording faults? but if it works it's a nice easy option
