Monzo Plus

I have just been reading about the updated Monzo Plus account and their "bundles"

https://community.monzo.com/t/monzo-plus-you-asked-to-us-make-it-simpler-so-we-ve-created-bundles/77933/917

Although it is still in its early stages, it looks like it could be something worth keeping an eye on.

Any thoughts? :question::question::question:

    Full details at https://monzo.com/blog/2019/08/29/monzo-plus-bundles.

    Seem like gimmicky wastes of money to me.

    Example: traveller bundle at £9/month, minimum 6 months. Therefore £108 per year. You get an extra £100 of fee-free withdrawals abroad (still worse than Starling), annual travel insurance (about £30-50 worth), minimal discount on airport lounges, Western Union payments at a 5% fee (it's actually cheaper to do this on the WU website) and a few discounts (e.g. 10% off Hotels.com, but they regularly have these codes online plus are rarely cheapest anyway).

    They've also stopped the 1.5% interest previously offered to Plus customers.

    Thank you, although I love reading and researching these things, I really like to hear other people's opinions. :beer:

    If you've read the comments, you'll know that most of Monzo's customers hate the new bundles.

    The savings are probably not as good as they appear and are, of course, only useful if you use them.

    15% off Tidal music. Great. The standard service costs £19.99 a month.

    10% off at Cornerstone. Great. £2.50 of their 'medically approved' erectile dysfunction treatment.

    '£30 off your first Thriva home blood test subscription over £59'. Great. An internet search suggests Thriva regularly offers 50% savings on its tests.

    'Custom Monzo.me username'. I already have one and it was free.

    Spend x to save y and time limited free trials.

    Nothing in any of the bundles gets me excited.

    The Erectile Dysfunction Treatment might help with that?
