What platform is your ISA on?

Do you have online access to your account?
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

Hi Sea Shell - the platform is Aviva. I do have access to the online platform, but I do not have access to the functionality to withdraw as it directs me to contact my adviser. However, when I called Aviva directly, they said I could direct the withdrawal as long as they had written instructions. I'm curious why the adviser said this and also why the platform does not give me withdrawal privileges to my own money and have to do it via the IFA?

It is normal for clients of IFAs to use the IFA to do the work. The IFA can key the withdrawal in minutes.

The reason you do not have online controls is that you are using an IFA. It sort of defeats the purpose if you employ an adviser and then do not use them for the work whilst you are still paying them.

If you want to DIY then transfer your ISA elsewhere to one where you can manage it yourself.
Don't see the point of what you are doing paying for an IFA and DIY.
What are these irritating questions they are asking you? Are they really unnecessary or are they protecting you? Or protecting themselves. Could be any of those.
