Egg credit card taking three months to arrive! advicedesperately needed

I have had an account with egg credit card for 8 years.I was due a new card at the end of october but it never arrived. When I contacted egg they said it had been sent on the 31st of august so they cancelled it- and my whole account.They then claimed to have re-issued a new card on the 5th of november which they said should take 5 working days.However they also cancelled my whole account and re-issued me a new account number and cancelled all the direct debits.The egg card they claimed was posted on the 31st august arrived the next day the 6th November but I was unable to use it as they had cancelled it. Now the re-issued card has not arrived and im convinced the fault lies with egg not posting the cards when they say they will. Meanwhile I dont know what to do about it all as I cant use my egg account and if they cancel this card I could be waiting months again and if I wait for it to come in - if it takes as long as the first it would take three months ! Its really annoying as I desperately need to use my credit card at the moment and egg arent being the slightest but helpful saying they cant look into it. Please can anyone offer me some advice what to do ? thanks

While you wait for the Egg card to arrive or for them to resend another card etc.. apply for a 2nd credit card from another company.

Its always useful to have two credit cards - each from different companies, in case something like this ever happens..
