Uk CPM - Result!

Well, after a lot of patience, research on here, near-capitulations when the brinksmanship ramps up, we've had a great result. Multiple tickets all dropped by UKCPM/Gladstones, two were at the date-in-court stage, which they dropped, one that was due to get a court date, and another that was further behind.
Sometimes you have to believe in what's right, and these 'companies' are just fleecing most people, which is wrong. Glad I stuck to my guns (did all the work for a relative), and that we didn't end up shelling out near £1000 for these 'tickets', two of which were a completejoke as it was pitch black and couldn't even see the signs :rotfl:
So thanks to everyone who's posted sample defences to work from and all that over the years, your knowledge is invaluable. 18 months of hope and determination...

Well done
UKCPM are simple money scammers but worst of all, you have Gladstones, the scammers best friend who are approved by the SRA
Despite the SRA being told countless times about the great Gladstones / IPC scam, they are rather ignorant in applying their own principals0 -
Well done. Was this in a residential car park? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Sorry for the late reply, away after I posted that!! Yes, it was a dodgy ill-maintained strip of land behind a Co-op in Sheffield. There was no demarcation of any 'parking bays', nothing to mark the strip of land itself from the rest of the road (!), and also no demarcation from the Co-ops OWN car park. My son believed that the 'Customers Only' sign on the UKCPM sign meant that he could park there. The fact that the Co-op it is THE only business on the entire street (for about half a mile) is entrapment, nothing else, as the only customer it COULD be for is the Co-op. In addition, the signs themselves were so small and unreadable, and in such a location that you'd have to stop and get out to read them, by which time you're already on their radar potentially for another 'parking charge' lol.
My wife time and time again wanted to simply pay it, even when it was ramping up to £250/ticket - I stuck to my guns, to the points and decisions made on here, and it played out perfectly. Thanks again all...0 -
Why not cause them a bit more trouble, send them an invoice for your time. When they ignore send the a letter before claim

You then have up to six years to follow it up.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Well done- great result!
Where is this in Sheffield?
It would be worth writing to Co-op and highlight the problem- I am sure numerous customers have been caught up in the murky world of parking companies.................0
