Born in Sheffield in 1938, Joe Scarborough is an artist most famous for bringing to life the everyday scenes of South Yorkshire, painting humorous depictions of Sheffield life. His work is in many private collections as well as hanging in public buildings and art collections across the world. Living North is delighted to have teamed up with this renowned artist to offer one lucky reader the chance to win one of his limited edition Scarborough Investment Portfolios, worth £1,500. This incredible prize consists of an art portfolio case embellished with the artist’s signature, containing 14 hand-signed prints chosen by the winner from his extensive archive, one exclusive signed print titled ‘5pm On The Canal’ not available anywhere else, a hand written message from Joe and a certificate of authenticity of each print.

In 2008 he was recognised as one of the Sheffield Legends with a star on the ‘walk of fame’ outside Sheffield Town Hall. Today Joe Scarborough paintings adorn the walls of many Sheffield homes, as well as private and public buildings all over the world. Many of Joe’s paintings can be found in major collections, including some in public art collections at Sheffield Museums and Sheffield Hallam University. His largest work ‘Sheffield Through the Ages’ resides at Weston Park Museum in Sheffield. Joe continues to paint to this day.
