Switching Energy Supplier
Hi All,
My contract with my current energy supplier will be ending by 5th September and my current plan doesn't have any exit fees. I have signed up with another new supplier today for the switch.
I was a bit confused about this now. Because my current contract will end on 5th September and the switch gonna take another 15 to 21 days. Will my current supplier needs a new contract until the switch happen? will be there any exit fees(if the new plan has one)? will the switch happen within the cooling-off period?
Thanks for your help!

You should be switched onto the standard tariff by your current supplier once your plan expires. No exit fees. However.... I think that they may have to honour your current tariff if they are aware that you are switching. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will be along in a mo to confirm or deny...#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660
