Has anyone ever used this company? The prices seem very good, but I'm worried about the usual adage 'if it seems too good to be true, it usually is'!

Longstanding company, i'd have no issues using them. We looked at them when we were going to buy an MX5 but then ended up not. They were friendly and knowledgable on the phone. I think they just put you in contact with the supplying dealer, so little risk.

I used them 10 years ago, got my Mondeo for £12k, bargain! Straight off the forecourt of a main dealer. You might have to travel a bit to pick it up - the dealer they found me was 50 miles away.

Or you could use them to get a quote and challenge your local dealer to match it.

I'm another fan of DTD and also Carfile. I think my family have bought about 15 cars with the over the years. Never had any problems. If you look at the FAQs on the site it tells you what happens:

    (1) You place an online quote
    (2) They call you to confirm
    (3) The supplying dealer contacts you for a £500 deposit (most will take a credit card for this so you'll get S75 protection.
    (4) And that's it. All your dealings are now with the manufacturers main dealer. DTD will receive commission from the dealer but that's part of the price you've paid and a transaction between them.

The crazy thing is that we've had a friend look for a car at a local dealer and they would only give him about £1,000 off. He went to DTD, placed an order with £3,400 off the car. The same original salesman at the local dealer dealt with the transaction and did the handover. But that's economics for you.

We bought our last car from them. I panicked a bit when they said we had to pick it up in Wales but it was all OK in the end. We drove across the border without even showing our passports. Luckily they were fluent in English at the dealership. Unlike the road signs on the way all the dials and controls are in English only. The only lasting indication of it's origin is the number plate starts with C for Cymru.
