G24 PCN ticket

Hi
I have recvd a PCN notice for overstaying the permitted free 90 min parking at Office outlet High Wycombe car park by 60 min.
I understand the best thing for me to do as per the newbie thread is to send appeal to G24 and then they will most likely reject at which point its a waiting game.
However I missed the first letter, no idea where it went, we've had lots of issues with post getting mixed up in our block of flats and not everyone is kind enough to re-distribute.
I am now on my second letter (final notice) that says i can no longer appeal to G24 using there own appeal procedure unless i have mitigating circumstances and they may at there own discretion engage in the IAS non-standard appeals service.
So my first question is why is it recommended to appeal to the likes of G24 if most likely it will fail?
What would you recommend i do now?
Not respond and just wait to see if it goes to court? or actually phone them and explain my mitigating circumstances for missing the first letter and appeal deadline, with a view to getting another chance at sending in my appeal?
or thirdly pay the £15 and complete the non-standard appeal process
For reference my appeal reason, is lack of signage . I have pictures ((links below) . There is a whole section of the car park on the other side of the main section of the car park that has no signage at all.
In terms of contacting the landowner the office outlet chain has gone into administration........not sure how i can find out who owns the land.
Thanks in advance

1) to show you engaged with g24 and start a letter trail , plus it confirms they are writing to the keeper at the correct address. It can also help to show a judge that it was not ignored
2) appeal anyway as Keeper , obtain a written rejection
3) complain to the landowner and get it cancelled
4) ignore the debt collectors letters
Never ever phone them up
Never use the £15 process
Read the newbies thread again, all my answers are in there

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Despite issuing hundreds of thousands of tickets, G24 have never once issued court proceedings. They're not likely to start with you. So ignore everything, after sending in your initial appeal, unless you get a formal Letter of Claim or real court papers (delivered by porcine airmail!).Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

@Umkomaas its looks like things have moved on since my post. G24 taking people to court now!
I have received my first letter from Gladstone asking to pay £160 to DRP debt collectors.....What would you guys suggest now, esp after a spate of g24 court claims?
Also I put my hand up - i didn't appeal and haven't contacted the landowner.
I will try to contact the land owner tomorrow.
Also worth noting the shop closed in September 2019 and the car park is now a staff car park for the local hospital.
Thanks0 -
I have been ignoring the Debt collector letters inc this one, but G24 seem to be litigating now....so is it better to pay the £160 now rather than the stress and costs of going to court?
does anyone know at what point the fee increases again?0 -
LOL, you really need to read more court claim threads. The sum goes down to zero as we win, and they can't add £60 so the parking charge is only £100 anyway.
Why people even THINK of paying £160 instead of nothing and having what a poster this week described as a 'delightful' experience in court for an hour with a lovely Judge, is beyond me!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The Supreme Court said they can't put it up to £160. Despite this they still try to claim it. Claims are now being thrown out pre hearing because of this abuse of the system.0
