Interrail ticket type confusion

I'm intending to buy an Interrail pass (I've done the sums vs buying separate tickets, it does work out cheaper for my particular travel plans) - the Global 5 days in 1 month pass. I'd actually intend to travel over about 18 days.

5 days in 1 month seems pretty straightforward, but I've just come across this on the Interrail website:

"If you order an Interrail Global Pass - 5 days within 1 month, this means you can choose any 5 days to travel on within a period of 15 days." (https://www.interrail.eu/en/help/using-pass/what-does-5-days-within-1-month-mean).

But on another page of their website (where you actually purchase the pass) it says this: "You can use this Interrail Pass on 5 days of your choice during a set period of 1 month." (https://www.interrail.eu/en/interrail-passes/global-pass)

I'm a bit baffled at why something described as a month pass may actually only be valid for 15 days. And what's contributing to that is that there is a lot of discussion about Interrail tickets on the internet and nobody else seems to be asking this question - am I missing something obvious?! If it was only 15 days I'm going to have to do some juggling of plans and some more sums.

The page in your first link, describing the meaning of 5 days' travel within one month in English, is headed as 5 days'within 15 days in all the other languages available. Eg. 'Cosa s'intende per 5 giorni nell'arco di 15 giorni?'

So they've made a mess of the heading for the English page, and in fact there are other mistakes such as referring to 5 days in 10 days in the URL title for Spanish.

So you can ignore it, just count on getting what is specified on the purchase page, such as 5 days at any time within the 30.

If I were you I'd try a specialist interrail forum.

What with the 7 oclock rule and the 4 oclock rule and the rest of the guff that complicates interrailing.
