Change supplier as a new tenant

.................... I believe the previous tenant moved out on 1 Aug and landlord did some work between 1-23 Aug....................
I doubt that your landlord took over the supply on Aug 1st - you will probably be lumbered with the cost of the consumption from Aug 1st till you take it over.
Keep your fingers crossed that the previous tenant did the right thing and read his meter on Aug 1st.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Found out the existing supplier is British Gas and the live chat rep told me a meter reading was submitted the day before my move-in date. Good news! I will get the reading myself next week and compare it with the last reading when I sign up.0

update
Received meter photos from management and set up an account with British Gas.
Question 1: Does supplier have a record of meter serial number? I checked previous bills but only found MPAN.
Question 2: When can I start the switching? Now or wait until a paper confirmation of account set-up coming.0 -
