The tariff they have offered is 'Octopus 12M Fixed' which I assume is 1 year only ?

They appear to have about 35 tariffs on current offer - all very similar and none substantially better than my current Co-op rates.

I will wait and see what they come up with when they transfer me

Reason I asked is as you say if get quote via https://octopus.energy/tariffs/ shows all the tariffs, however via refer a friend and from standard web site home page link doesnt show 24 month tariff when getting a quote, interesting that they didnt offer 24 month tariff in email to you.

MSE recommended 24 month fix is cheapest plus 25.00 cashback, I think it is called Green Network Energy

What a surprise - they didn't give me their best offer !

Can't imagine that Co-op Energy customers will be given a good deal especially as many will be subject to inertia.

Octopus must be confident about "inertia" reported they paying over 30 Million.

it's a pity that the Energy market doesn't have something like the start up:

    https://gethoncho.com/

They reverse bid for your custom (car insurance).

Arghh ! In the Guardian link you provided I read that are funded by Octopus Ventures - venture capitalists I assume ?

Can't believe that the 'ethical' Co-op would sell out to such people. That will go down really well with Co-op members.

This statement didn't exactly cheer me up:

"Co-Op Energy states there will be a reduced need for staff as Octopus have invested heavily in technology which needs a lot less intervention by colleagues.

So customers have rated Octopus highly or at least those who subscribe to Which consumer panels......

Tbh my father did not trust direct debits but I am afraid that giro slips and cheques are not going to be around for much longer. Not saying it is right but along with fb, instagram and twitter, that is where we are going.

And as someone who worked in a bank in 70s and rejected cheques with 'wrong payee' to send back as rejected sometimes the old ways are the best ways.

Interesting but it looks like a personal Facebook profile which is a little bit unusual ?

He does state that he is a self employed sales adviser for Octopus Energy.

I think I will wait and see what they officially offer ex Co-op Energy customers such as myself

I also pay Co-op Energy quarterly on Receipt of Bill and wish to continue doing so.

Anyone know what other companies allow payment by this method ?

It saves all the nonsense of variable direct debits and claiming back credit for over payments.

I pay a on receipt of a quarterly bill with Ebico.
