Letter Before Claim

Good afternoon,

Looking for any advice that can be given really, have had a look on this forum and pretty sure i have to write back but hoping for clarification.

So last year, my wife visited her friend at a newish build property on an estate, she parked on the road in front of her friends driveway, no yellow lines and didnt notice any signs, within weeks we had received a charge from CPM for £100 with a photo of our car parked, after sifting through the advice on here i made the decision to ignore the letter hoping they would not take any further, i received 1 further letter along the same lines which i am unable to find, again ignoring.

Hear nothing for 8 months and then yesterday i received a letter before claim from GLADSTONES to recover £160 (£60 claimed by client), now the last thing i want to do is be taken to court but wondering any loop holes i can reply with or not reply at all?

Maybe irrelevant to all of this but i actually traded the car in for a different one back in june and also am under a debt management with step change, would any of these two factors help me at all?

Thankyou for taking the time to read and any feedback would be appreciated

You appear not to have read the stickies. That is where you will find the loopholes.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Firstly, you are being scammed by Gladstones and they have added a fake £60.

Does the letter give you 30 days to respond with proof of their claim ... ???

POFA2012 (the law) very clearly states.

This additional charge is not recoverable under the protection of freedoms act 2012, Schedule 4

What is the Gladstones excuse for adding £60
