Ticket form parking eye/Waitrose

I received a ticket from Waitrose in Stirling for staying 30 minutes over. The original letter said I could get a discount if I laid withing 15 days but I got the ticket 25 days after it was issued so I ignored it and have continued to ignore it on the advice of friends.
I received a second letter asking for the money and now have received a FINAL WARNING asking for £140 and threating legal action.
I know they have no legal ground about I'm still very anxious about them actually taking me to court and am thinking about jay paying it to get it off my mind .
What are the chances they will act take me to court and if they do how time consuming would it be and what are the chances of me losing and ordered to pay our for legal fees?
I'm going back to uni and don't have the time and money to go to court so any help would be greatly appreciated.

We cannot help you if you are not prepared to help yourself. Have you read the stickies re fending off these tickets in Scotland? It is not rocket science. They can only pursue the driver, not the keeper, if they do not know who was driving they are Friar Tucked.

In Scotland, if they do not know who was driving, very slim imo.

Their signs are rubbish anyway, read this

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

As said, they need to know who the driver is ... there was no driver

If you can prove you are a valued customer of Waitrose, you should contact the MD and request cancellation. Enclose a copy of the letter asking "Does he find this acceptable for a customer of waitrose to be threatened with court action"

Yep just complain politely but in a very 'upset customer' way, to Waitys and say it's putting you off using Waitys once you return to Uni, and you've told all your friends how upset you are and it's tainted your Summer break.

All retail fake PCNs are cancellable either by the shop, the head office, or landowner.

I said only yesterday that it constantly amazes me when posters haven't done this! Surely it is the obvious easy answer. Retailers care about customers (usually) and Waitys certainly do, and we've seen loads of PCNs cancelled this simply, one email.

    Look, here's the latest one:

    :D
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
