PPI-Bank said to sign form to not claim again

Options
A few years ago my mother made a PPI claim from her bank. It was approved and once the bank made payment they made her sign a form to say that she will not make any further PPI claims with them in the future. I'm curious to know if this is correct/standard procedure or if they were not in fact allowed to ask her to do that? Thanks

Since PPI redress is a full refund plus interest, it's difficult to see where you might want to go with this. If you've already complained and been refunded, why would you want or need to complain again?

The Bank just wanted to ensure the payment was full and final by sending that form, but if you had found a valid reason to complain again she would not have been prevented from bringing this to the attention of the Bank..

At midnight tonight there won't be any further PPI complaints anyway....

All complaint responses will be worded along the lines of a full and final settlement. Plus, the FCA rules allow for a firm to refuse to reconsider a complaint outcome after 6 months unless there has been a breach of rules or significant new evidence which would likely change the outcome.

Thanks for your reply, very helpful to know she should not be prevented from bringing this to the attention of the bank with another valid claim.

She will, of course, have to make any such "valid" complaint in the next nine hours...
