Local Service Compliance Tele Interview

Options
Hello

I am in receipt of contribution based ESA and Pip. I know very little about the benefits system and am a newbie on here, too.

I have received a letter saying that I am to have a Local Service Compliance Telephone Interview.

I have no idea what level of threat this is to my benefits, and my stomach is churning with anxiety about what this might mean.

Is this a routine thing they do to everyone?

Does it mean someone has reported me for something? (I have not done anything wrong, but I am involved in a dispute with a really spiteful person and its the kind of nasty thing they might do.)

How worried should I be?

I lay awake nearly all night worrying about this. What are they going to ask of me? What should I do?

Thank you to anyone who can respond.

Are you 100% sure all your ESA is Contributions based? You maybe receiving Contributions based with an Income Related top up. You need to check to make sure because so many people get confused between the two. Contributions based ESA is £111.65 per week, is this what you receive?

These interviews can be totally random but it's impossible to answer your question.

If you haven't done anything wrong then you have no reasons to worry but you can ring the number on the letter and ask them what it's about.

Yes, it says in a letter I have here that it is contribution based. And yes it comes to £111.65 exactly, then they deducted £13.23 because I get a work-related pension.

It maybe to do with this. Have you had any changes recently to do with the pension you receive and you haven't reported the changes?

As advised, ring the number on the letter and they'll tell you what it's about.
