I posted recently about receiving a PCN from UKCPS for parking outside a marked bay. They declined my appeal. I was not going to appeal via IAS.

I discovered the land is owned by St Modwen of Birmingham.

I e-mailed the company and explained the situation. The site manager said he would look into it for a "mutual solution" for myself and UKCPS.

Half an hour later I received the following ...

=======================================

Further to my recent email, I can confirm that the parking notice has been cancelled. We have previously instructed UKCPS not to issue in the area due to the reduced size of the spaces.

Their officer is currently being re trained.

Apologies for any inconvenience

Kind regards

=======================================

So they tried to charge me even though they knew they had no right to issue charges in that area.

Can I go for a data protection breach against UKCPS?

If so, what do I need to do?

PS: I suspect "re trained" is a euphemism for "b0ll0cking".

Shame they have only lost out on the DVLA fee.

I will not contact UKCPS in the hope they issue court proceedings and end up with more egg on their faces.

    Might be better if you got the threads merged so context is maintained. I've commented substantively on your original thread.
    Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

    I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
