Who can witness a signature for TR1 form

It wasn't Solex, no, it was Gordons Property Lawyers.
I did end up getting it sorted, it was actually just in the nick of time, as well, because one of the third parties who was coming off the deeds, stopped responding to my requests for nearly 3 months, claiming they had no internet.
But I did have to put in a complaint to get the TR1 form accepted, the reason they kept declining it and sending it back and wanted a witness from a pre select list, was because in my case, two people were giving away their equity without anything in exchange.
So I can sort of understand why, but they should've said that from the beginning, but still, I still found it improper they would apply their own arbitrary rules and processes that don't match the official government/land registry requirements.
Their way of doing it added so much more stress, it got to the point where I was about ready to give up1 -
I’ve just done it this week and had a neighbour sign it. My solicitor told me it can be anyone as long as it’s not a relative.0
