Majorca - road fine

We went on holiday to Majorca last October where we hired a car.

Today i recieved a letter for a road fine. Apparently I was driving in a traffic free zone.

My question is, can they send me a find 10 months after the incident?

Is there not a time limit cut off?

I'm not sure anyone here is versed in Spanish traffic law.

Does it ask you to pay an official body in Spain, a Spanish court or to a UK-based operation?

If it is the UK lot, then they are just another private debt collector who specialise in buying-up tickets that overseas authorities ditch as unenforceable - sometimes as quickly as a matter of days after issue. Post four of the Newbies Sticky covers them completely!

If its the former, then yes you need to take it somewhere more specialised.
