Highly unlikely... if they have already carried out a search and the results came back empty it is because the information no longer exists on their systems (as it should be according to GDPR).

Unless you can supply them with ‘evidence’ of PPI then there is nothing for them to consider the payment reference will mean nothing I’m afraid.

direct debit reference numbers rarely match account numbers.

And even if you get the reference number, all that shows is that there was a mortgage. Not that there was insurance.

Most MPPi was not built into the mortgage but was a separate direct debit to the insurer. Did you ask the bank for the insurance details?
