Waamo, I don't want to merge them, I wanted an answer on this particular question. With respect, nobody answered my several bumps on that thread when I had further questions and I needed this answered quickly.
Maybe you are forgetting that all the members offer their knowledge free, even the solicitors on this forum.
This is such a busy forum that posts quickly vanish from page 1
Merging your threads is wise and saves confusion.
Never forget this is all free to the users0 -
I've rarely seen any Judge award more than 4-5 hours of litigant in person costs. Throwing in a seriously high number of hours (I don't doubt you've spent that amount of time on it) you run the risk of getting nowt, just an outright dismissal of your costs claim.
I suppose if you ask for 5 hours and get them, there'll always be a nagging doubt that you might have been awarded 10 (or 15, 20, 25 ......), but there's no set formula and there's no second guessing what any Judge might do.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If you break it down into each major element of work, yore far more likely to get costs.
Have you shown their unreasonable behaviour?
And finally OP - the rules you agreed to when posting said you would do one case in one thread.0 -
If you are going to slag off everyone who replies you won't get any replies
I won't be helping you any further due to your disrespect to other members giving their free time to explain things that were confusing you
If you don't want explanations , then don't ask , and if you don't want answers from experienced members , ask for replies from people with less than 10 posts who are newbies0 -

He is claiming for harassment ..... As i am sure you are aware this is a very high bar and this is NOT harrasment0 -
Browntrout - does not preclude costs of hte claim, if the CLAIM is unreasonable, now does it?0

No it doesnt but because i cant see the original ticket details i cant tell, (and i am not hunting round)
But unreasonable behaviour and harassment are not the same thing etc0 -
Nope, which is why I wasnt confusing the two topics - youre the one who added harassment in!0

Merging Threads - It appears the forum members are assuming at my current question is linked to the same case previously discussed on another thread. I request that the court strike out this claim based that the forum members continue to bring forth their claim without evidence and their behaviour meets the bar for unreasonableness (I think I'm quite funny here)
beamerguy- What you have said reinforces the reason why I made a new thread and not invalidates, and that is assuming they are both related, of which you've provided no evidence.
Also, I am unsure at what point in this thread my behaviour may suggest I am being forgetful of the professional advice I am offered here. Please can you clarify.
Umkomaas - What are your thoughts on the "Maxing out the counterclaim" thread I posted previously...the value there is £1500ish and seems to have been achieved more than once. Although, given what’s been said here, this is a costs listing rather than the counterclaim. If I was asking 5-6 hours then I would be quoting Band 3 trainee solicitor rates for my costs given the time I've spent studying.
nosferatu1001 - Yes I will be breaking the costs down part by part, and yes in the case I am discussing in particular they have met the bar for unreasonableness.
Redx - I've got plenty of replies and if you note nobody has backed you up. Whilst your comment was very helpful there was no need for the patronising comment at the end. You're declining to comment further not because I have showed a lack of respect of other members, of which there is no evidence, but because I pulled you up on being rude. Again, I've made no comment on not wanting explanations, I've commented on your patronising statement. Better just to apologise when you've spoken out of turn rather than be childish and fabricate defensive statements it just makes it worse.
BrownTrout - I've not decided what I am claiming for yet as I have quite a few directions I can go down. As you can see at the start of this thread, I had some confusion between costs and a counterclaim when writing this post. In the last few minutes I've yet to decide on how to proceed. Please bear with me while I consider this.
So, thank you once again for your replies. I've learnt a lot in my limited time here and am always grateful of the replies that people take the time to write.
If anyone would like to add any further replies, I will, as and always, be most appreciative to read them.0 -
How many claims do you have going on? Is this the same claim as your other thread or is it entirely unrelated?0
