It’s a long thread and I’m sure it’s all been said, but that isn’t going to stop me!:)

In principle I’d be happy to ‘correct the mistake’. It wouldn’t sit well with me to take advantage of the situation. I’ve made massive professional blunders in my time that people could have sued me for but people have invariably been kind and understanding. However I’d want legal advice from a solicitor of my choice paid for by the builder and I’d expect compensation if there was a financial impact with the mortgage.
