NRAM - "Unable to find policy in my name"

Options
Hi guys,

A few weeks ago I received a letter from NRAM Customer Relations responding to my PPI claim advising they were unable to find a PPI policy in my name. I was one of those who had a 125% mortgage/loan and thankfully it's well behind me and obviously these were quite sometime ago (approx. 2006).

I intend to call but do you have any ideas on info, questions, I can arm myself with? I have already supplied fundamentals such as address at the time, DOB, etc.

I have already looked through the site for more info related to NRAM but think this may now have run it's course. Any advise is welcome.

Did you use an estate agent/mortgage broker/adviser?

Did you actually have MPPI? (not life assurance or any other insurance that is not PPI).

The insurance likely to be attached to such a mortgage would be Mortgage Indemnity Guarantee (MIG) which covered the lender (not you) in the event you defaulted. Mortgage lenders very often insisted on this insurance as a condition of this type of mortgage and it's not now somehow reclaimable.

Why do you intend to call? Do you already have documentary proof that there was PPI attached to the mortgage? If not, and the Bank have already said their records show there was no PPI, then I would imagine you'll find any such call a very frustrating experience-especially on the last two days PPI complaints are allowed.
