Problems with cleaner

Hi all,

Just looking for some advice.

We’ve had a cleaner for several years, she’s always done a great job with no issues at all. She comes every 2 weeks and has a key to our front door. The last time she came to clean was on the 10th July, as we were going on holiday for 3 weeks we would only need her to come once. She sent us a message on the 16th saying she would let us know which day she would clean so we could pay her, but that’s the last we heard from her. My wife has sent quite a few messages since then, (through Facebook messenger and text message) but she hasn’t responded to any of them. We did a bit of social media stalking and she has been active, albeit not very.

What would people recommend I do? She has a key as I said, it would be easy enough to change the lock, but I’m also concerned more generally.

TIA,
DrPips

Sounds like she's quit, there's nothing to be concerned about other than changing your locks. You could send her a message and ask her to pop them through your door if she no longer wants the job, but it's best to change them too.

I’m not sure really. It just seems really odd. She’s always replied to messages very quickly, within a few minutes in the past, always very friendly and lovely. It’s just very out of character. Just tried phoning her but no answer.

I guess I’ll just change the lock and get a new cleaner. Shame though when you have someone you trust.

I would send her another message and ask if she is ok and still want the job.
Also mention that if you do not hear back from her in 7 days, you will assume that she no longer wants to work for you and please could she drop the keys through the letter box.
Thank her for her service over the years and move on.
    Change the locks also
