Hello.
I am after some advice on a plumbing issue i may have.
I will be removing an old washing machine hot water feed that comes of an 15mm compression equal T. The 15mm hot water pipe from upstairs go into the base unit where it joins the equal T and the the washing machine feed comes of the bottom part of the T to the machine outlet.
As there is not much room under the base/sink unit i was thinking of taking off the old 15mm pipe at the T and using a blanking cap to put onto where the old pipe was but i am not sure of what size to get, 1/2 inch ones i have seen but i don't want to get the wrong size.
I can't really use a push fit as the there is not any room to cut the pipe cleanly with a hacksaw and a pipe slicer will not fit as the cold feed is too close to it.0 -
Can you fit either of these on to the appropriate T compression outlet?

Thank you for the reply
I bought one of these early this week from Toolstation.

It say's 1/2 inch and that is why i am not to sure if it will fit over/on the outlet on the equal T just like the compression nut on that tightens the pipe and the olive together.0 -
Pipes used to be imperial and changed to metric three or four decades ago. 1/2 inch tube (inside diameter) became 15mm (outside diameter) and in use are interchangeble.
The threads stayed the same, so yes, the 1/2 inch thread will fit.
The threaded cap is much more reliable than a push-on fitting.0
