Ancient gas meter

I've got an ancient prepayment gas meter in my house. A boiler repair man mentioned that I maybe ought to get a new one fitted.
Who do I contact? I don't pay for gas to the gas board but Bulb Energy. Should I contact them or someone else? And will I have to pay for the new meter?
Thanks

Contact Bulb Energy, tell them that you would like a smart meter installed and also put on a standard tariff, not a prepayment - Prepayment meters are an expensive way of getting energy.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

WHOOPS ... I totally forgot to say, I don't pre-pay, I get a monthly bill from Bulb. It's just that the meter was originally built for prepayments.
Thanks FreeBear I will ring them now.0 -

The CH engineer thought it was older than him!
Mind you he was only a whippersnapper of about 40!0 -
