I will highly recommend before trying High Street bank, try to open Monzo or Starling, these are full accounts and quite lineament in the checks. If you are able to open account in 1 of these and they dont get closed in 2/3 weeks time then you can apply for Clydesdale. The banks that I have already tried to open a bank accoumt unsuccessfuly - HSBC, Barclays, NatWest, RBS, Halifax, Loyds, Metro, Santander. I have Monzo account, monzo let me open one even with CIFAS on, because thats an international bank account, therefore, does not build my credit score, or won’t give me an option to get a mortgage in a future. Also, many companies dont accept monzo for setting up a direct debit- like for example my car insurence (dabenhams). I use monzo only for getting my wage and taking money out, nothis else really. But yes its still better than nothing.0

Thank you for all of your replies. At least you have given me a hope that i might still be able to open a bank account. As I said I will try to open one with Clydesdale. I will let you know how it went after a week or 2, when I will be sure they won’t close it again0

Why do they not take Monzo for Direct Debits?
If the company says no, then complain to them, as Monzo are part of the DD scheme. So retailer should be taking them.
They do show on your Noodle (Callcredit/TransUnion) credit report, but not Experian or Equifax. As reported by Monzo users on their chat site.
Monzo is also regulated by the FCA and a UK registered bank.
Your issue is while the Cifas marker has dropped off. The banks who closed the accounts for what ever reason will still have this on record and probably never allow you to bank with them again.
Be aware any issues with your new accounts may prompt that bank to ask other banks if they have had any previous dealings with you.Life in the slow lane0 -

I agree you should wait at least one month before reapplying for any account.
This is because the banks will only update their data monthly.
If it has dropped off CIFAS - make sure not to apply to the bank that first applied it because they may have long internal memories!0 -
You haven't said what type of CIFAS marker it was / what it was for. This will probably have a bearing on whether or not banks with whom you've previously dealt (and thus know about it) will take you back.0

Im not sure what type Cifas marker it was. 6 years ago I was silly, did not have a job at that time and when some people, who rented a room in the same house, offered me to give me some money if i let them transfer ant withdraw some money from bank account, it sounded like a great option, it was the worst decision i ever made, did not even think at that time that it might look strange to my bank. And very soon after I’ve got my bank account closed. I didnt know anything about cifas marker at that time, and none of the banks agreed to explain me what is going on. so I just kept trying to open a bank account in a different banks from time to time, because i didn’t know how long will I be black listed , hoping that maybe its finished already. I have only find that its most probably a CIFAS marker around 2 years ago. Therefore, after that, I waited until 6 years will pass and i have sent a DSAR form to CIFAS To check if they still have my name in their data base, and they told me they dont. So now i hope I will be able to open a bank account and start again. I will wait one month just in case, as one of you have offered.1

What exactly do you have with Mozno, do you have a 6 digit sort code + 8 digit account number? Is it in Sterling?0
