    Morning all,

It's my birthday today but we all got a very rude awakening when the smoke alarm/heat sensors set off at 6 this morning.I know that's not early for some of you but the alarm usually goes off at 7.15 here normally.DH thinks there's a fault somewhere, might have to get the electrician up.

Had a lovely afternoon at the food festival again but mainly at the music stage and bar. There were 2 people I wanted to see but 1 didnt appear. The other is the son of a former work friend who also went to the school when I worked in Reception.I thought his mum might have been there but he said she was away but another ex work friend turned up with her DH so it was a lovely catch up.We had some fantastic Greek food from one of the stalls.
Popping up to Aunties shortly to see if she's back from gallivanting :D
Enjoy the lovely weather and hope it lasts a bit longer,it's a bit cooler here today x

Morning all! Cooler here too which reminded me I left my hoodie at home, doh!
Father really unwell yesterday, will see what today brings..
As for this morning, bagging up the grass from last week for recycling tomorrow and throwing things out that are past used by dates or will not 'come in handy ' is the order....My sister is coming to go through her stuff too so that should empty a few cupboards for her to take home with her or chuck...
Happy birthday Red!!! Hope everyone has a great day or failing that, one which does not cause distress....

    It's my birthday today

    :bdaycake::bdaycake:

Many happy returns - hope you have a lovely day filled with cake!

Been into town, mooched round M&S, returned two pairs of trousers and bought another pair. DM is now a size 10 all over apart from her hips - she's got real child-bearing ones! I've got her a pair of stretchy jeggings to see if they fit.

    Hugs to all.

  • Happy Birthday ROSYRED, have a lovely day with mucho cake.

Just back from my Tuesday coffee and lunch meet up and it's still horrendously warm with no sign of the thunderstorms - they have now been postponed until this evening! Hopefully they will cool it down a bit.

I had a lovely chicken and bacon panini, with salad and chips, for my lunch. It was yummy. Got my bits and pieces from Savers and the bargain frozen food shop didn't let me down. 8 Walls Solero strawberry smoothies for £1 and a bag of "Strong Roots" roasted beetroot wedges for £1 (£3 in Sainsbobs!)

Sitting here now with my feet up and the windows wide open trying to cool down! Enjoy the rest of the day folks if you can and take care xx TAFF I hope today finds your dad improved a bit and fingers crossed the jeggings fit your DM GERS x

    Hello all.
We've been shopping with Dad since this morning. We went over the mountain road to F foods, HBarginous and As*da ( just 3 shops and took us hours  ) We even had to have a snack lunch in A*da as we were so long as Dad did his usual "look at everything, but buy nothing" tricks. Drove Mr Fix It batty, well more than he usually is :rotfl:.
Anyway back home to find DD arriving dragging a big box, a LOL camper bus, which we opened and had a play :D. And so the xmas pressies have started coming in for the DGC . We'll be the new Toysrus warehouse in no time :rotfl:
I have put some of my shopping away, but some items are still waiting my attention so I'll have a rest then get cracking.
Rosy Red I hope you've had a very Happy Birthday :bdaycake: and a lovely day. _party_
AOD any chance you could move in next to me ? Please, pretty please :D
taff I'm sorry that your Dad is still unwell, I shall send you both gentle hugs xx. I hope he has picked up a bit today. And please don't get me started on the M4 .
Doing It My Way that last 2lb must be so frustrating, I hope it gets lost soon... in the nicest possible way :rotfl:
Oh well I'd better go and sort the shopping now that my coffee break is over, give me a shove someone.
See you all tomorrow, take care.
    nan xx

Thank you ladies for all the birthday wishes :T.Cake has been consumed, a nice lemon sponge and a salted caramel brownie ( warmed with ice cream) My clothes feel tighter just at the thought :rotfl:

Auntie wasn't in so I'll have to catch up with her another day ,but I hadnt been back long when my cousin called unexpectedly with her baby DGD who I hadnt met before so that was lovely. They stayed for an hour or so and brought a beautiful handmade card. .DH came home bearing a big bunch of flowers and we've had a nice steak dinner, so all in all I've had a nice birthday, thank you :) xx
