Question about car insurance when you lease a car?

[FONT=&quot]Hi, I am going to be leasing a car soon but one thing I’m not too sure about is when you insure the car, do you have to insure it as the company you got it off as the owner and then do you just name yourself as a named driver? Currently me and my partner drive the same car, so would we both just be named drivers on the insurance?[/FONT]

You tell the insurance company that the lease company owns the car but you are the main driver and are leasing the vehicle. It should be no different in insurance cost to you owning the vehicle.

Do you happen to know if we would still be able to gain no claims bonus or would we not?

Only the main driver would get NCB unless you go to somewhere like Direct Line who give NCB to a named driver as long as you stay with them.( Not accepted elsewhere.)

You declared it as: private leased in registered owner and registered keeper fields when checking prices online.

Otherwise, it's as every other insurance policy.
