Private parking ticket company

Hi all
New to this, but need advice
I work for the NHS as a band 3 HCSW and parked at the hospital so I could swim, it was early morning so parked by the pool. Came out and there was a ticket for £60
Usually I do pay for parking but this time I thought id chance my arm as I am skint.
Anyway, I can’t afford £60 but neither do I wish to go to court.
Is this ticket enforceable?

What has that got to do with anything?

You're certainly swimming with sharks when you park in any private car park. And making the conscious decision not to pay is like dragging a bag of chum behind you!

Why do you think landowners employ PPCs if people take something without paying. A bit like shoplifting.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It is, but only if a judge says so, and from what you have told us, if they took you to court, there is a fair chance he/she might.

Read the stickies and see if their ducks are all aligned, If so, consider paying, if not fight.

Sigh. So much depends on how people express themselves.

The way you've written this, it looks like a wind-up. If you're a low-paid NHS worker who usually pays through the nose for parking, are seriously skint and gave into the overwhelming temptation to use the facilities at your place of work for free, just for once .... I'd have some sympathy.

I understand that parking is a vexed issue for the NHS but also that it can be a total pain in the neck & wallet for NHS workers, not to mention patients. And it sounds as if you've provided the PPC with a fair bit of cash over time.

It may be worth noting that the PPCs do lurk here and if they somehow manage to more or less identify you, they'd laugh their socks off. If you want to fight this, there may be grounds but a change of attitude plus editing is required. Alternatively, if you really were simply being daft, cough up.

I have very little sympathy for chancers. If you cannot do the time …

However on the basis that I hate PPCs even more than I disaprove of bilkers, I suggest that as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams you consider complaining to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
