TomTom safety cam updates .This is usually £19.99 Currys have it on special at £9.99.

I got this from offer of the day ...Thanks go to that web site.You need a tomtom for this ..But good for any body travelling alot .

If they are charging £9.99 just for a one off update you are being ripped off bigstyle

Just look on any of the torrent sites they have the up to date speed camera's available to download

Being curry's it will most likely be the official updates which are run by tomtom. The free one's everyone is on about on torrent sites are maintained by pocketgps.co.uk and are available at their site for a registration fee.

The tomtom one's will work with the inbuilt tomtom speed camera warning system. The pocketgps one's only work with poi proximity warnings.

According to the tomtom website, it's a one year update, and it is £19.95 on their website http://www.tomtom.com/plus/services/pois.php


Also, I was expecting to read about the tomtom traffic module which gives you free traffic updates over radio waves and changes your route away from traffic.

Pocketgps one's are maintained by the users, i.e. a pocketgps member sees a camera, they press a button which logs the location, and this is sent to pocketgps. If you read some sites some people think the pocket gps one's aren't accurate and some people have said they've reported a camera which hasn't been added.

Right just a quick update .
Firstly sorry I typed Tom Tom Traffic ..meant to change it when I had typed rest of message and then forgot ...Think memory retention like Dory off Nemo and you will see why I need a TOM TOM in the first place .
The actual item you purchase is a blister pack witha credit card which contains a rub off strip with a code ..That i asume you enter in the Tom Tom live section ..Then accept the update when you link up Tom Tom to your PC .
This is a 12 month subscription ..I assume it starts from the day you log on .
***When i picked mine up from (Telford )Currys The guy said ...Oh this is clearance ..Then told me I had the last one in the store ..
So not too many about ..I ordered it on-line..Pick up and pay .
As far as torrents go...This is one thing that I could not find regularly I still have a june list on one Tom Tom I use ..I will admit most cameras don't move ...Just those one's that park for the day on bridges ... still I have been snapped once and see this as cheap in comparisson .
My own oppinion is that eventually this will be a free update with Tom Tom in the end ...But not yet ..
