PPI (sorry) Question - No details, is it too late?

Options
I imagine there will be n avalanche of PPI questions over the coming days so apologies. Scanned the first few pages of the forum, didn't find my question.

I had credit cards with Capital One and Barclaycard around 2001-2010 (now closed)

I can't remember if I had PPI - the only reason I want to check is because I have a vague recollection of another payment alongside my monthly payment. Sadly no paperwork as both accounts closed.

I would not have knowingly agreed to PPI or any extra payments - I was a student at the time.

I have filled a form on the Capital One website requesting if I ever had it as a first step but they said it'll take 14 days to get back to me which is obviously past the deadline.

Is it too late for me to check and rule out if I did/didn't have an unrealised PPI on either cards? Is there a quicker way of checking - I know the fact that the cards predate 2005 is a slight complication

Thanks

It wouldn't have been added to the monthly payment. If you were paying PPI, it would only be if you borrowed on the card and not paid it back each month. And it would be an entry on the statement, much like a retailer transaction.

The deadline is to raise the complaint. Not to have it resolved by.

The 2005 rule doesnt apply to credit cards. phone their helpline up. Its the quickest way.

I didn't pay it back each month - I had a few thousand and paid the minimum payment each month.

From what I've read, requesting any PPI details counts as raising a complaint. Happy to be corrected it I've misunderstood.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
