Parcel2go printing labels in store...

I hope this is the right place to post this :-)

I have been posting parcels for some time using myhermes, I have it linked to my eBay about and I can easily import and print parcel labels from home but i decided to try the print in store option to try cut down on printer ink and paper I’m using.

So I need to use Parcel2Go so I can use the QR code option in store (you can’t do this from myhermes) and today I noticed if I’m sending a parcel to the GSP or Argos click and collect address the reference numbers in the address are not showing on the print out in store. (Even though I’m adding it to the address and I can see in the address on my screen) it’s just omitted when I print out instore.

I used their chat function today but the agent wasn’t much help. Has anyone else had this issue? Do you know any way around It?

Thanks

In the short term, write it on the parcel

When I’ve printed at home and the ref no. makes the 2nd line too long it also misses the end off. I’ve been writing it on myself too
  • Thanks, yeah I did write on it this time, I’m just worried about the other times I sent parcels and didn’t notice it was missing. My husband seems to think the info will be on the barcode so I don’t need to worry

It sounds like this is an issue with this. I did try to report it today but the agent wasn’t interested and there they don’t have any other contact option. I give up....

100% if you are ever able to book any courier then the address you typed will be within their barcode information.
Whether it physically prints off or not makes no difference to the couriers.
If the couriers internal fields are not big enough to handle something then you would be warned before being able to book.
You can actively see this on Parcel2Go when you save some addresses. Then if you perhaps change from selecting TNT to UPS the latter system may reject certain lines that were previously accepted. The phone number field is very common for only accepting 12 characters with 1 courier and maybe 16 with another.

Thanks, I wasn’t really worried about the courier not being able to see the reference number or part of the address. More for the people on Argos click & collect and eBay GPS. My husband seems to think they will be able to see it too. I’ve no idea if this is the case. I’ll probably not use them again anyway, don’t like the fact their only contact option is live chat.

I wouldn't have thought Argos would be using carriers' barcodes. Although the full code may be accessible that way, won't Argos just look at what is printed on the label when a customer comes to collect?
