Car insurance - relatives car
Hi All,
A have the below question; if there any options to me that I'm missing or is it a dead end:
My sister moved abroad recently leaving her car behind. We are looking into selling our car and using hers instead.
I tried to transfer my insurance but they said they can't do that for siblings; only for spouse or parents. I can't transfer the car registration as they are under Audi finance.
Obviously I can't be a named driver since the main driver won't be using the car.
Is there another option or is the car destined to sit there?
Thank you in advance.

Ignore the insurance issue for now. Do Audi finance know your sister has left the UK? Are payments still being made? Is the car insured at all?
Does the terms of the finance agreement even allow what you are attempting?0 -
What finance deal is it?
It sounds like it's on a PCP in which case it's not your sisters car, she's just leasing it with an option to buy later. You'd need to talk to Audi about it, but you may be completely stuffed and your sister will have to return the car or keep paying for a car she can't use.0 -
Thanks for the responses; yes they are still making payments / insured. Yes its PCP.
Sounds like this won't be an option for us.0 -
If she has paid more thsn 50% of the finance agreemrnt amount she can hand the car back.0
