Unemployed but with high savings

But the focus of this thread is whether there are benefits of registering as unemployed with some government entity (Job Centre Plus ??) when one is ineligible for benefits.
 Can you help with that?

            Update :
I went to this Job Centre Plus place.
In a similar fashion to this thread, the woman who saw me kept encouraging me to make a claim for benefits I am ineligible for. After steering her away from this, she told me that claims for NIC credits must be made online.
So, I looked online and on the JSA gov.uk website, it states I need to contact Job Centre Plus.
So, rather than traipse back to the Job Centre Plus, I made an ineligible claim for JSA and I received a message stating I will receive an appointment for an interview at Job Centre Plus.
I am not sure if I am making progress or stuck in a loop.
Hopefully soon, I will land a job to extract myself from a confusing, possibly Kafka-esque bureaucratic mire.
On the other front, the lady at Job Centre Plus stated that job centres no longer help match employers to those seeking work but rather check "claimants are adhering to the rules". Times have changed.0

Have you checked your NIC record to see whether you have enough credits to get a full state pension?
If you have (or better have significantly over the number of years as the rules may change) then maybe it is not worth the hassle?
That judgement call also depends on how close you are to the (current) state pension age.0

"Have you checked your NIC record to see whether you have enough credits to get a full state pension?"
As stated earlier in the thread, I know my NIC record and I would describe it as "patchy". Hence I would like to grab as many credits as possible.
"That's been the case for years now."
As I stated earlier in the thread and I will state here (for the 2nd time), I had not been to a job centre for over 25 years.0

I just wanted to know if there is any point registering as unemployed. That's all.
 Thanks.
The point was, that although you wont be able to claim benefits, the calculator with all information inputted would stear you into the right direction of what you can put a claim in for to be able to get the NIC.
You cant "register" unemployed. You can "claim" a benefit, even if this is just for the NIC.
If your unemployed, your unemplited, thats the basis of it.
In relation to the JCP, yes you were right to do it online, as you will need an appointment, there isnt much the JCP will do these days by just walking in off the street, they insist on an appointment.0
