Morning all. Back from holiday on Friday. We left Dawlish early and were back before lunch with the first load of washing on. We had a chilled day yesterday as we were both tired. Holidays with DD and dgs are a whirlwind of activity. DH vacuumed the sand out of the car and took it to the car wash. I did some more washing. Dinner was quorn spag bol over steamed runner beans from the garden. Delish.

AOD Happy Anniversary. It's ours today too. 45 years. Where did that go?

Lainey nice to see you. TA hope you can get some pain relief for your legs. Nmlc enjoy your lunch.

Have a good day all and enjoy the sunshine.

Lainey good to see you. It's so hot isn't it. We walked Ziggy at twilight last night, she loves it then the smells must be really strong and she raced round the fields like a mad thing. We'll probably do the same again.

Both sets of children are under canvas this weekend, I don't envy them. Laura said she was very ho when she woke yesterday but managed to find a cold shower so she was ok. They are off to Greece on Wednesday fo a "babymoon" when did that become a thing. She'll be right on the cusp for flying coming back and I think she's mad but what do I know.

Chris and Crystal are somewhere in Somerset with her family until Tuesday.

Steve is in my bad graces. The shower in the en-suite was leaking so he decided the mastic needed replacing. Unbeknown to me he decided to do the two other showers as well and stripped the mastic from them all instead of doing one at a time. He then started to feel ill so we are left without a working shower, grr.

Morning campers, my it's hot, hot, hot already !
I was shattered yesterday after the DGS went home, because of not sleeping very well the night before. It doesn't matter that he has been overnighting since he was 3 days old, I'm still on pins during the night . Going to do it all again with DGD on Wed/Thurs too !
Anyway I, in my infinite wisdom, decided last night to wash another duvet in the bath, only a single this time and it's now dangling on the whirly. Shouldn't take to much coaxing to dry in the sun today :j.
It's "Sunday lunch with Dad" day and I've got a beef joint in the slow cooker. I daren't roast it or it might turn out like shoe leather and it cost too much for that to happen ! We will have roast pots, yorkies, veg and beef gravy mmmmmmm. The veg is prepped and ready to go so I'm having a quick coffee before the cooking commences.
Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs AOD

    NMLC enjoy your new car.
    Lainey :hello:
TA perhaps SK duvet cover wrestling could become a new sport :D. It's the running around both sides of the bed that kills me !
Snoozer sorry that Steve has fallen unwell, probably tried to do too much at once. ( I know how that goes :( ) Perhaps a swift cuff of the ear will remind him not to over do things ;). Hope he feels well enough today to finish what he started.
Scarlett I'd be very annoyed at your "fire" man. Theses days there is little excuse ( notes on mobiles etc ) not to remember what the job is. Third time lucky eh ? Fingers and eyes well and truly crossed :D
Sending healing vibes to the poorly people and animals, hugs to the carers and anyone who is struggling with life.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.
    Take care all

Nanny, at his hospital appt this week we saw the big bod who was encouraging him to keep going to the gym until he found out that he was doing circuits and body pump then he was told to cool it a bit. From his symptoms he has labyrinthitis which I had a few years ago and it comes and goes and takes forever to clear up completely.

Evening chums DD wasn't well yesterday, and we ended up in hospital at Newport .she has a bad infection in her jaw/gum the emergency Dr thinks so she has shed loads of drugs to take. Bless her the last thing she needs on her holidays. We drove up to Alum Bay at lunchtime so DGS Jack's g/f could see the needles and they were going to ride the cliff car down to the beach, but it was blistering hot there and DD felt very wobbly so we came home instead and she had a bit of a lie down. she is feeling very fed up and sorry fo herself at the moment bless her as she thinks its spoiling the holiday which is daft as I just want her to feel better and be out of pain. The boys are being brilliant though and no one is complaining as they too are worried at their normal jolly Mum is so poorly.Fingers crossed the strong anti biotics will kick in and lear the problem up.

it really was too blooming hot today with barely a breath of wind and I too find it exhausting. But lots of reading and a bit of knitting with my feet up is helping DGS Mikey has discovered that he like drawing cartoons (and he is rather good at it :) ) so he has a big bag of Sharpies and a thick drawing pad and we barely hear a peep out of him .The rest of the family are all pottering around DGS Henry is staying at his sisters until Monday night as he is back to work on Tuesday morning .DGS Ben who is living in London is off to Notting Hill carnival tomorrow with his pals ,but has promised he will be careful and keep his hand on his valuables :) I think he will wear his bumbag under his tee shirt :) DGD Katie rang tonight as she too is feeling the effects of being 5 months pregnant and the heat is a bit wearing. Son-in-law Simon is head cook and bless him is making a grand job of it
Apart from that we are all enjoying the break (apart from DD Tessa poor lass)
its going far too fast and before I know it I will be on my way back to Kent and normal life again :)

Hope everyone is having a good break from work or life in general and managing to keep cool

    Cheers chums

    JackieO xx
