Cancelling holiday activity - no deposit paid

Hi all
My partner booked a holiday activity (archery) for a trip in two weeks time, however a few people have pulled out and we can't afford to subsidise them all. We tried to cancel today but the activity is on 7th September and they've told us that we would have to pay 100% because it's within the 14 days.
We haven't yet paid a deposit, or given them our card details, can anyone advise if we can actually cancel this? Technically I think the booking was just over 14 days from the time of our email if you class a day as 24 hours instead of Monday, Tuesday... We would still have to pay 50% though..
Any advice would be hugely appreciated

What were the T&Cs agreed to when you booked?
They need to mitigate their loses e.g. try and fill the places then they can charge you any costs.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
They will in all probability pursue you for the debt.0
