    To be honest I was cursing in my head the van being parked there, none of this would have happened if it wasn't parked there at the time, but it never usually is. It's just sod's law.

    Can't exactly go ranting to my neighbour about parking his van in front of his own drive, but I will be mentioning it and hope he doesn't in future

    Also learn from this and reverse in and drive out.

    There was an older chap trying to parallel park in town the other day, guided by his missus who was standing in the bay - and a right cod was being made.

    I'm still not sure if he's utterly incompetent, or simply massively hen-pecked.
