This sounds like a keyboard error. Whoever typed in the VRN on the pay machine probably entered a wrong digit. Therefore payment was made but not for the car in question.

So we thought that. The response to the appeal included some tickets bought but not at our time. I just cannot trust this is a full record of tickets. I know I bought a ticket.

You do not have to, the burden of proof falls to them.

I guess this is what is so unfair. They would say they have but their evidence is just plain wrong. I know I bought a ticket, I can't prove their proof is not a full account or that there is something wrong with their machine or data. I've literally no power.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'll look to draft a response to them (not sure they will listen or have any obligation to). I've flying to Scotland this afternoon and with my family I have little to no time. This is really tough.

    Q. How can I change my username?

    A.
In most circumstances, this is not permitted.

The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk. This usually means you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something that gives away your identity within your username.

If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com and request that it is changed, giving three alternative usernames in order of preference.

I would email a SAR to the DPO at Brittania to get redacted details of all the pdt records around the time of parking from all machines, plus draft and submit a popla appeal before day 32

    And read this https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/team-blog/2017/05/throwing-pay-display-ticket-away-use-cost-100/

That paid for ticket receipt was your proof of contract, same as when you but from an Argos shop, or petrol in a filling station

On the contrary, you are in the driving seat, The judge will hear both sides and then OTBOP, make a decision. Why should he not believe you?

I do not see why this is such a big deal. I have used my real name on usenet and fora since 1995 without any problems whatsoever.

As I already appealed but don't believe the information they have provided, is it worth/does it do any harm to reply to the appeal? I drafted the text below. What do you think? (Unfortunately I never kept the text that I originally sent).

Once I can track down the right email address I'll also send an SAR.

I took the text below from the first appeal letter in the newbie thread.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

    Re PCN number:

Following on from your reply to my appeal I contest that your reply is a satisfactory reply to an appeal of a PCN. You have not provided sufficient information and therefore can't consider the appeal complete and end the process with a threat of a higher charge. Please read below for the information expected in response to an appeal.

Firstly, I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement and I will be making a formal complaint about your predatory conduct to your client landowner and to my MP.

There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn.

Since your PCN is a vague template, I require ALL photos taken and an explanation of the allegation and your evidence, including:

    - As the allegation concerns a payment machine, the data supplied in response to this appeal must include the record of all payments made in the date in question - showing partial VRNs - and an explanation of the reason for the PCN. It must also contain records of vehicles entering and leaving the car park - showing partial VRNs - for the date in question.
    - In all cases, you must include a close up actual photograph of the signs you contend were at the location on the material date.
    - Acknowledgement by way of including the text of the content of my initial appeal message.
    - All data you hold about me and my vehicle.

    Formal note:
Should you later pursue this charge by way of litigation, note that service of any legal documents by email is expressly disallowed and you are not entitled to assume that the data in this dispute/appeal remains the current address for service in the future.

    Yours faithfully
