Dudley Building Society Mortgage Application Taking Too Long

Ilovepeople
Good Evening Lovely People.
Just wondering has anyone dealt with Dudley Building Society lately?
Did a DIP and submitted a full application. It's been 3 weeks now and they still haven't instructed Valuation, the keep asking for the same documents over and over again. Their turn around times are very slow!!!! They got slated on their facebook for being so bad :mad::mad::mad:. Anyone had any recent experiences with them lately? And with them taking so long are they just slugging it out for a decline??? Broker keeps saying soon soon....pulling my hair out. Anyone had any experiences with them? Would appreciate your thoughts and comments.
Have a great weekend peoples.:beer:

Who is your broker? Estate agent introduced
Free broker? why this particular lender? Any adverse history on your credit file?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Dudley were a lender who were open to the odd bit of adverse. They have always been a bit tricky, I assume partially because they are a small-ish building society and partially because of the part of the market they are in.
As above, is there a reason you went to Dudley?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. @csgohan4 - yes they were estate agent introduced.
@ACG reason we went with them was because of the LTV is high 95%.
Everything seems fine so far. It's just that they have been asking for things that have already been provided. And some of the questions seemed odd however we answered them anyway.
Looked on the forum here and on there face book page. Reviews left years ago slated them...just wanted to see if they have improved or are still the same.:cool::cool::cool::cool:0 -
EA Brokers are often not whole of the market and will try and peddle their own services such as conveyances and surveyor's at over inflated prices.
They will of course offer you lenders who offer them more commission, but not necessarily good for you
I would not trust what an EA would peddle you generally. while there are good ones out there, you can never be sure and it's far safer for your wallet and sanity to discourage you from using them"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

@csgohan4 - thanks for the tip. On our next purchase I'll bear that in mind. I am not paying any fees and Dudley actually are offering competitive rates. I just find Dudleys way of working baffling. csgohan4 - do you have any experience of dealing with them?0

I am currently using them for a mortgage.
DIP took 2 days as they suggested.
Full application was submitted on Friday but not seen a charge yet on my card so not sure if its been picked up yet or not although they promised a 2 day turnaround on full applications.
Shall wait and see what today brings.0 -
Good Luck Blue Horizon!!!
They are good but take bloody ages to deal with stuff!!!!0 -
Usually Dudley only accept broker applications through what are known as mortgage packagers. These are third parties that take over the administration (and ocassionally the advice) of the mortgage application.
This is a strategic decision by the lender not broker being lazy. As there is a third party in the process it will be slower.
Ask your broker if there is a mortgage packager involved
Ask again why the Dudley was recommended as there are plenty of 95% LTV lenders - there must be some other reason
Double check you have provided all documentation - get your broker to confirm this to you
Get your broker to phone the packager, assuming one is involved and get them to find out what the delay is and what the SLA's are at the moment (service levels/turnaround times of the packager).
I hope you get it sorted. The thing to concerns me most here is you don't know the actual reason you are applying to Dudley. It will be more than just LTV - if your broker hasn't told you exactly why then that's not advice, its a sale.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Hi, the company has asked for a right of reply. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the Forum:
Hi ilovepeople, As mentioned by other forum members, we work through the intermediary market. We are really sorry to hear that you haven’t had a positive experience dealing with us so far. If you could send your details to mortgagesales@dudleybuildingsociety.co.uk or call us on 01384 489195, we will look in to what is causing the issue and provide you and your Broker with an update.

How is your application going?
They seem to be experiencing a surge in applications or something as they are taking a while at the moment to process full applications (the DIP took 2 days as they said it would)0
