Am I just saying each letter individually? Is this Electric Light Orchestra? There were on one of the competitions previously I believe? I think either answer is acceptable. Did they pronounce specifically ELO on the radio this morning? Thanks
Yes they were an answer to a previous comp.
If they were to phone me, I’d say “E.L.O. - The Electric Light Orchestra”
I’m pretty sure they won’t be too nitpicky and would accept any of those permutations
Thanks JanE1956 for listening and posting, I’m sure everyone is very grateful and appreciates it

Many people rely on this thread to help with the answer. If we all listened to that station every day, none of us would need this thread so simply stamping your foot and telling people they should listen to the station is ridiculous and would remove the need for the thread. So no, it might not be clear to some people. I also think the 'the' conversation was clearly pointed at a group in which the word 'the' was part of their official name and so could have mattered that one day. It obviously doesn't any other time. So no need to continue with the sarcasm either when that subject was long over. No idea why you're acting like this but please don't push it upon the rest of us because there are far more important things in the world to worry about than making people feel stupid or unwelcome in a thread.. Thank you to those who have answered the posters question re pronounciation. A valid question if you don't know the group.
And yes for those asking and as Andrew has kindly said, you do pronounce it as individual letters.
When people don’t thank you for what you’ve done or just ask questions with no please or thank you, it can make you feel unappreciated and not want to continue though. If people do that to me, I tend to ignore their questions, there is google after all, they can make a bit of effort themselves, they’re obviously on the internet0 -
I have recorded the artist announcement today, and will try to do it every day from now on, if I have time, if someone else with an Apple Mac computer would like to do the same you need the Piezo app, you can then record audio from a web browser e.g safari, firefox etc. then set up a soundcloud account and upload the recording there...[STRIKE]here is todays announcement...https://soundcloud.com/user-383864592/greatist-hits-radio-cash-superstars-elo[/STRIKE] - Remove track from Soundcloud as no longer neededPosting is a privilege, not a right. Warning
Bauer Hits Network England have started their Cash Register comp today (HERE)
They are also calling at 3pm.
Greatest Hits Radio - Answer is a band
Hits Radio - Answer is a cash amount
Fortunately when I've been listening to the call on greatest hits, Andy Crane the DJ says "Hi Its Andy Crane from Greatest hits cash superstar" so this would hopefully help the lucky person on the call. There is another dj I listened to (I think sarah Jane Crawford?) and all she would say is "Hi its Sarah Jane Crawford" as in the person on the end of the phone should know her and what the call is regarding! She does eventually mention why she is calling, but I would be in a panic trying to figure out what competition she would be calling from at the beginning!!Started comping: September 2013Wins so far: Cunard QM2 Cruise, X Factor final tickets, £1,000 Team build day, Dinner at the Ritz with Rolls Royce limo:j:T

I think this is definitely the stage when I would answer something along the lines of...
"Well Jimmy, Jane, Sarah, Peter or whomever this maybe, are you requiring the cash superstar or the cash register as ive entered both and I need to give you the correct answer"
Im gathering they aren't mean enough to not tell you :rotfl: and if they are then Santa is definitely putting them on the naughty list this year! xx0 -
