Sleep has become my enemy, I can get to sleep but staying asleep is my problem and so right now I find myself awake at 4am yet again :(

So what did I achieve MSE wise yesterday? Well food shopping - managed a simple top up shop. That came to just under £19. My living room has turned into a laundry, started tackling the three bags of clothes and toys my kids have outgrown. Ironed them. put into size bundles and started to take photos of them today to sell. There isnt a lot so it won't be a money spinner but just want them out of my home. No other spends to record.

We recieved our latest electricity bill and ouch! over £300 per last quarter and in that time we went back to our standard tariff after being on a fix. Will be sticking as standard for now though. We do put money aside each month in the bills account but still.

I went for a walk listening to a podcast I used to listen to last year and it was good. Will do that again.

Today I must sort out insurance on rental  property - its due for renewal this week.

I am like you with the sleep. It's the age, linked to peri menopause and hormones I think. I go through phases and an at that annoying stage of beginning to notice more and ore early wakings, know a bad spell is on the way.
    Debt free Feb 2021 🎉
  • Hello February and hello diary. January was a blur month but being the start of a new month it was time to update the diary.

So debt is still coming down slowly. I'm now sitting at 83% paid off and on target to be out of debt by July. My job was a bit burden of stress so I have cut my hours back down to part time, its not kicked in yet so lets see how that goes. Couldn't really afford to do it but the pace of work in my company was too much for me to keep up with.

In other news my partner has finally got the keys to his new property and we are busying ourselves with getting the place ready to be a holiday let. We haven't done this before so is an interesting project to get stuck into. So far going well but we have a long list of things to do but thankfully the flat won't need a lot of works to it before we are up and running. Anyway we hope this will be another income stream for us.

I've also taken the plunge and joined a gym. I'm no gym lovin bunny but I spend too much time at home and I thought this may be a way to get out the house and get the endorphins going. Booked myself in for two classes next week, that will be interesting as I am not that fit. Bet I'll be walking funny by next Weds  :D

    Hello!

I am jealous at your gym membership. I always planned to join one once smallest started school and I was still working 2-10, then hubby lost his job, I took on another one and by the time he found a new job 13months later I was working mon-fri 9-3, then home, sort kids, tea etc it's nearly 7pm. And I spent so long working evenings I don't want to then start being out after 7.

I am no gym bunny either, but always liked using weights when I was younger and could do with some strength training and toning. Bah. Won't be happening anytime soon.

  • Hello Friday Morning,

Went to bed last night before 9 and slept through to 5am which for me is superb!

This week my part time hours at work were finally sorted out so I now have my date when I drop back down. Still have mixed feelings about it but it is the right thing to do atm. Its also been appraisal week too, was super nervous as I have had some turbulence from upping my hours, wobbling and then dropping back down but it went ok so I shouldn't have worried about it so much. I'm now having to put my thinking cap on how I can bring in some more ££ to supplement my part time wage. I would really like a second part time job that gets me out of the house and to mix with people again so we will see. Am thinking for now a bit of volunteering or something might be a good start. I've been battling anxiety for quite a long time and I need to make some little changes for the good.

This week I went to the gym, didn't make it to the classes but just enjoyed a bit of me time. I need to buy a lock for the lockers - that's on my to do list.

Money wise doing ok, not really saving anything but not down too much either just quietly bobbing along. Already started to think about Easter holidays. I've wanted to do a high ropes course for a long time so I think I will treat me and the kids to that activity on one of my days off.

  • Hello diary,

I have been very quiet on here for a while but still making progress forward. Currently sitting 4 payments away from being debt free and by hook or crook I will do everything I can to make sure I stay debt free.

Savings are getting pummelled by whats happening on the stock market. Expecting it to get much worse before it gets better. So just trying to keep going.

    Debt free Feb 2021 🎉
  • Hello Saturday,

Having a lazy day so far :)

So this weekend is accounts month and eek not looking so rosy. Starting with the good stuff, now 86% debt paid off, only 4 more payments on the credit card and then will be 'debt free'.

My savings and pension has slumped because of stock market activities, bit scary but as a long term investor gotta keep ma nerve and keep going.

Thoughts have move to summer and planning some camping trips with the kids and maybe a trip abroad. Currently holding fire on booking yet.

  • Good Morning, Absolutely beautiful day!

Just got home from a lovely surprise weekend getaway. Couldnt have asked for the weather any better. Have eaten and drank like a Queen and really feeling ready for some veggies and generally being healthy.

Today is a bonus day, had one day rolled over from last year and so enjoying the day. So far I have sorted out the kids wardrobes. Littlest was complaining last week he had no trousers and to be fair he didn't have many pairs - they must be hiding at their dads. So bought a couple of pairs this weekend which should do him just fine. Now we are getting into warmer weather he'll be into shorts soon too. I have a massive box of eldest kids clothes and gone through this box and pulled out the next size up for the youngest  and cleared out some of the little stuff too. These will mainly go to school nursery as most are stained or tatty but one or two things will be good to friends and a little pile of shorts may sell as a bundle. Will examine later and see how they are.

Thinking to rest of today, I need to do some cleaning, go to the gym and would like to do a bit of gardening. It would be rude not to in this lovely weather.

MSE wise last night, finally sat down and looked at household budget and had that sinking feeling from all the increases and commitments that need to be paid for in the coming months. Dropping my hours at work and crazy increases in everything is a vomit inducing heady mix but trying not to let this dampen down the day. Everything will be fine I am sure of it.

Oh one last thing, I finally updated my signature to realise I have paid off over 9k of debt! That in itself something to be chuffed about.  :)
