Perhaps, i am making it more of a concern in my head, than in reality. but yes declaring a CCJ on job applications, either in finance, insurance (my background), or wherever could potentially hinder opportunities. The implication being there must be a reason why its specicallly asked on applicatios (aside from ovious working with finance)

The issue i have, is that i was offered the chance to not have it on my credit file, why offer an incentive at all? why could these important court docs not be sent signed for delivery..

I will continue to investigate as i would like to think there is an opprtinty for common sense to be applied in certain circustances...
Do your jobs tend to be regulated? If so a CCJ could be a serious problem.

I received one years ago after the DVLA didn’t receive my change of address request and when HR found out about it they gave me an hour to pay before they would have had me escorted from the building.

All they did was what they're supposed to. It doesn't mean you have a "great relationship", it just means your creditors aren't complete <insert expletive here>

With all due respect you appear to know what you're doing (or think you do) and are really only here to be told whatever it is that agrees with your view and will argue against anything that doesn't.

That's fine but it's not forums work.

Wooah Boo ... i think you are misunderstanding me, and my intentions. I came on this forum for hep and guidance as there are folks here with way more knowledge and intelligence, in these areas. Just looking at the post counts on this thread, you clearly devote a lot of time and effort in helping people. I put myself out here to ask for help and am grateful for all feedback received.

I guess the gist of my issue, is the process seems unfair, to me and why I’d like to at least try, whilst being mindful, I’m probably on a losing wicket. I appreciate that the feedback thus far, is honest with my interpretation of the advice is that they aint gonna budge as rules are rules. And whilst it seems unfair, I’m fully aware that life isn’t fair at times. However, the process has irked me (can you tell!?) so i do want to challenge this. I may not get far, but at least i can try.

Also i never said i had "great relationships with creditors", i said it was reasonable... in the sense i owed them £4k for a long time and it took them issuing a CCJ and placing an order on my property for me for me to beg and borrow to raise funds to settle the debt... so in all honesty not that great and it was a surprise i got a standard letter confirming settlement. Whether i can get anything else out of them is debatable..

So I’m definitely taking on board advice from folks that are far more knowledgeable on this and i respect that, but it shouldn’t prevent me trying...

I really don’t know what I’m doing (Unnecessary for you to say “well you think you do”) and it could all go horribly wrong but i still value your advice, so please don’t take this, as I’m some arrogant, gonna do what i want irrespective of what others say. Based on feedback so far, this could be a big waste of time, but it’s important to me to try as I’m aware of the implications that could be very detrimental for me...

It’s out of the original creditors hands now.

The only way the court “may” remove it is if you go for another set-aside with a different reason.

But again they may still not find in your favour.

Aah that did cross my mind (once i realsied i mssed up with the "setting aside" motion ... but i think i may have burnt my bridges in that respect, i can explore again, but as you say ive settled the debt now, so credtors are not likley to want to be involved. .. Its another one to look into .. cheers

KD, Insurance doesnt tend to be as scrutinous... I think it depends on firms policy, or hiring manager and HR, but finance would be very hot on CCJ. The fact i have settled it, should help, but even a settled CCJ in Finance and a bad credit rating wouldnt bode well....

I just want to give myself the best chance poss, so if no CCJ, i dont need to declare. Banks would always check credit file, and mine is shot anyway, so would be difficult getting into banking, but Insurance a bad credit rating could be explianed .. in my opinion...

If you're trying, you're not taking on people's advice.

The advice is drop it, you're throwing good money after bad.

You’re definitely clutching at straws here.

    Just let it be.
