Viessmann Vitodens 100 26KW vs vaillant ecofit pure 825

My boiler broke and I have receive quotes from an engineer (which look reasonable for install). I am less sure on a boiler model.
He is strongly suggesting a vaillant ecofit pure 825 as a 'better' boiler with a 7 year warranty.
I asked about a Viessmann as reviews seem good online, for which is has quoted about £90 more. He seem to think it was less reliable and it has a shorter warranty.
I need to decide asap as I have no hot water....
Any suggestions? The valiant seems to be a cheaper version as a pure not a pro?

You will be getting at least three quotes and opinions from other installer technicians??
I loathe combi boilers for precisely the reason that you have 'no hot water' if they fail. Strip wash using a kettle?0 -
Pressurised tanks only last a little longer than a decade and you end up in the same situation. And they are expensive0

I haven't got three other quotes, mostly because I feel really short on time and the quotes looks about right based advice websites. I admit I would feel a bit bad going elsewhere as they have already been round twice to assess what they can do (if their estimate seemed too high I would be looking elsewhere - its actually cheaper than online calculators suggest). They didn't suggest any work I didn't know needed doing which is nice.
I will see If there are some quick ways to get other quotes. Both me and my sister have ultra long hair and washing with a kettle is a nightmare xD
I know there are some pitfalls with Combi, but the extra space and potential lower bills sound nice. We do to even use close to a full tank of water and it isn't a big house. The 'standard' one failed anyway.0 -
Vailiant, Worcester Bosch and Viessmann are all reliable manufacturers for boilers.
Avoid Baxi and potterton as much as you can.0 -
Thanks. I have a feeling they are recommending the Valliant as they can get the extended warranty, whereas you need to be a Viessmann trained installed to get their extended warranty. So they will install either, but I lose two years of warranty if I use them and get the Viessmann.0

My Vailiant tank lasted 17 years
Ok longer than 10 years
I was expecting 50 years lol
You have to get them inspected yearly for warranty to apply !!0 -
Viessmann will come with 10-year guarantee if fitted by an accredited technician. You might want to have a read of

OK it's Bosch rather than Vailant but Vailant are also mentioned in there..
Viessmann is potentially 5% more efficient, and they also do a range that is 98% efficient.0 -
Plumbers will nearly always recommend the boiler for which THEY get the best deal.
Invest £1 to buy the WHICH report if you want their opinion - to save you that £1 the answer is Veissmann!0
