Aqua direct debit confusion

in Credit cards
I recently grabbed an aqua rewards card as it offers (slightly) better perks than my other "travel" cards.
Anyway. First thing I did when I got it was setup a DD for full statement amount. And as I'm not traveling just now I'll only be sticking a bit of petrol on it each month.
Alas I digress. I just got a notification of my first statement and bill and I see this on the app (won't let me take acreenshots). Now it looks to me like it's going to try and take minimum payment come due day. Which I absolutely do not want. Can anyone with aqua shed light?
Thanks.

It's the way most credit cards work they show a minimum payment amount which is required which in your case is £5.
As you have it setup to pay the full amount it will should take the full payment of £19.37, you may also want to check that aqua have set up your direct debit on your bank account as they are notoriously slow at setting up the first direct debit.
If its not on your list of direct debits you may want to make a manual payment of your full statement balance so as not to incur a £12 late fee.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
Thanks. Bit bizzare the wording then. "Payment requested" sounds like... Well that is the payment that has been requested.
My other cards all show the amount that will actually be taken. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I had exactly the same issues / concerns with them, having set up the full statement direct debit while applying, and they did take the full amount without any problems0

Other providers do the same thing.
It's just showing the minimum payment.0 -
Great card when used in the right way, iv'e earn't £175 so far after 2yrs of usage and not paid a penny interest.0

A day or two after the statement is generated you will be able to view a PDF of the statement - on there it will say "Your Direct Debit of £xxxx... will be taken on....".
I think you should be able to see it by now if you click transactions, then back to 21 Aug, then there should be a download statement button.0 -
They are requesting you make a payment of at least £5 - but will collect the full statement balance as outlined below it. Confusing to some - I have the same one set to full balance - and it always shows the same way as above. Always takes the full balance though. Do make sure the direct debit is active for the first payment though, and make a manual payment if unsure - if you end up double paying, you can either get it back or just spend it next month.0

This is why I pay my cc's manually through the internet.
You could pay it off and then call them to edit or use the button on the screen.0
