You have borrowed a £1000 to pay back the rent deficit. Has this been done? Have you cancelled your TV package? Does the tv package include your Netflix subscription?
Yes, borrowed from family, with promise to pay back but no timescale required, to pay back as and when I can afford. This has then been put towards my rent arrears which totaled (after adding on rent from the date of the letter until now) £1800. So balance now at £800, with another 2 weeks worth added on until I get paid leaves the balance at £916. TV Package hasn't been cancelled yet but I'm making the call later this afternoon to do so. The netflix subscription is paid through my virgin media bill.

So £222 to find. Cutting down is going to make all the difference. You can do this. Decision made on the second holiday? I think it's an easy one x
    Loan 1 £5200/£8000
    Loan 2 £300/£5800
    Total £5500/£13800

Call up the TV company today and cancel your package. Look at the articles on the main MSE site for good value internet, don't just drop to whatever they say.

Your gas and electric look high. Do a comparison and see if you can get a better deal elsewhere - again the main site articles will help.

How soon can you get the HP down?

Have you shown this SOA and the changes to the council? I'm not clear how they expect you to get the rest of the money for them this month?

Not offering help I know but I would imagine the same way people expect the council to do everything they want when they are owed money.

Seriously did't know about this! Unfortunately the clubs are at the weekend and not an after school club. I'm going to read more into this though, very interesting!

Yes, virgin is cancelled! Looking at internet packages tonight. Will have a look at them thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm on pre payment meters for gas and electric. Nothing we've done wrong, they were just in when we moved in. I asked about moving to monthly but apparently they need a £150 deposit per meter to change it!

I'm actually thinking about just returning the phone as I believe that would end the agreement. Wasted money but thinking of the future, it's a hindrance at the moment.

Full reply about the council further down :)

Finally spoke to "the boss" regarding my repayment schedule being rejected. She was really angry that my case conference didn't have a financial help expert sitting in to discuss repayment and that the guy I met should not have provided any sort of repayment offers to me.

She has put a hold on all proceedings at the moment, and I'm awaiting a call from the financial help expert this week to then go over my SOA. I'm hoping after this, I will be clear in what I need to do, and be comfortable in any repayments I need to make! Will keep you all updated

Thanks for all the comments so far!

Hi everyone. May be talking to myself but just incase anyone else has the same issues as me in the future:-

Had my meeting with the financial expert on Friday and the person who had rejected my repayment offer has now today accepted it. I'm now on my way to beginning my debt free journey and I couldn't be more excited :)!

The sad happenings with Thomas Cook has taken the cancellation of my holiday's out of my hands and I will now not lose any money on them.
