Old Claim - Timeout?

Hey,

I am going through my old paperwork and I have remembered that I had claimed a PPI refund on a Capital One Credit card I had for 4 years.
This was back in late 2016 and they had denied my claim as they said I filled the form in so they are not responsible.

I sort of forgot to follow up the claim - on the letter it stated that I had to go to the ombudsman within 6 months - is this correct? Am I resigned to the fact that I left it too late from the initial letter?

Thanks

Edward

‘‘Too late, too late’ will be the cry when the ombudsman deadline passes you by’

(You’re well out of time, sorry Edward)

Why do you think claims companies do not have to follow the rules?
How would complaining again help? They would just refer you back to your original complaint. There would be no point of a timebar if you could just keep recomplaining again and again.

Yes, you will be referred to the previous decision in 2016.

You need to understand that, whatever you may now do, your complaint ended nearly three years ago.

A Claim Company has no special powers to override a time bar.

Basically, you complained; were rejected and then forgot all about it for three years.

It's too late now and, to be fair, your complaint was probably over even if you had referred the case to the Ombudsman back then.

As above. RBS will send you a duplicate complaint acknowledgement with a copy of your original FRL.

You’ve nothing to gain from instructing a CMC. They’re unlikely to take it on if you’re honest with them (that it’s resolved) and if you decide honesty isn’t the best policy, you could end up with a fat bill for their wasted time.

For you Edward from Wiltshire, ze complaint is over.
