Hi All,
I am hoping someone can offer me some advice... Everytime I log onto my computer I get 2 error boxes - One from Avast saying License Expired! and one which says Windows Defender - application failed to initialize. . I have tried to click on the Avast link but what happens is the PC trys to connect to the internet using AOL- our old ISP.. then results in an error and everything shuts down. I don't want to renew the license - I just want the box to stop appearing... And as for the other box - I have no idea what this is - nor how to fix it... (I am not very technical
)
Could someone please help ? :A. Sorry - I tried to post pics of the error boxes but it wouldn't let me post them on here.
Thank you
HoneyPie

Do you have a router? If so, IE, tools, internet options, connections, make sure "never dial" is ticked, and everything unticked in advanced
Avast has to be registered every year, goto the website, get a key, and paste it into avast. It needs to update every day, so this is important.

Defender, try reinstalling it.

You also might want to install some antispyware, avg antispyware, lavassoft, or superantispyware.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Thank you very much Albertross.
I am currently downloading defender,and have requested a key by e mail..

I put my pc in to be fixed a while back, and am guessing these things were installed then.
Once again Thanks for your quick advice.0
