I still have a BT landline and so will i be paying double on the line rental; with the current Plus net offer? The offer includes phones, i guess aimed at mobile phone users; but i am not interested in that.
I just need broadband for the internet, i am currently with SKY; but want to get rid of them,as i don't watch most of it and the broadband speed is slow.

You only have a BT line if you pay line rental to BT, you may well use an Openreach line , but you don’t pay OR directly for it, but you pay a provider and they pay a percentage of it to Openreach.
Your post is a little unclear, if you want to use Plusnet ( which is a BT Group company ) you only pay line rental once, it could be to Plusnet , if you move to them, but if you are currently with BT for line rental and only want PN broadband and PN are happy to supply broadband on a BT line rental line, then you would pay BT line rental and PN for the broadband service only, but as I said it’s not clear that you currently pay BT anything, as you say you are with Sky so it’s likely you pay Sky not BT for line rental.
If you pay Sky line rental and broadband and if migrate to Plusnet , you stop paying Sky line rental and broadband and start paying PN for line rental and broadband , so you only pay line rental once ( like you do now ) and none of it is to BT

Be aware that SKY do broadband without TV and if its slow you may well be moving this SLOW to another provider .
