Cheap Energy Club suggestion... can this be done?

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but I wonder if it's possible that when you log in and enter/save your usage details and current supplier/tariff name that provision could be made to enter your current price per KWH and standing charge's manually?
Reason being, I regularly use MSE energy comparison but having just switched my electricity supply to Symbio energy I cannot update my saved details as Symbio are not listed on MSE energy club.
As a consequence,I've selected the nearest tariff that I can find (Orbit energy) and saved that as my default current electricity supplier.

This is usually because the database hasn't updated and it looks like the Energy Club only updates semi regularly, this company does show on uSwitch though.
The issue with using custom details is that it would be too easy to get these wrong and could distort the "savings" if you said you were paying 21p/kWh and nPower's top tariff was only 14p/kWh for example.
Because energy prices can't be customised on a per-user basis but are only offered regionally, its safe to say that if you said you were in Manchest for example that everybody in Manchester on that tariff from that supplier would pay that price.0 -
Just use the Citizens Advice and Which? websites instead !0

I queried lack of Symbio with CEC and the answer was pretty much tough !0

Never rely upon what a site tells you that you can save. Use your own calculations.0

I think I emailed them in March, as a tariff was missing, and I think it was added within a couple of days.
Maybe it was chance!0 -

The Board Guide queried this with MSE too, and this is the response received:

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/76115137#Comment_76115137The way that energy comparisons work is that we're reliant on suppliers to share the details of their tariffs with us so that we're able to key these into our system for you to select. Frustratingly, some small suppliers aren’t particularly good at doing this.

Over the past year or so, there has been an increase in the number of new smaller providers entering the market and it’s difficult to track this.
Some of these suppliers have shared their tariff details with us and we’re working on adding these to our system, but due to the number of new suppliers this will take some time.
Unfortunately this means that for now, you wouldn’t be able to update your account. I appreciate this can be frustrating and it’s not ideal situation, but we’re working on it and once we have updated our system (providing your supplier has shared its tariff details with us) we will try to get in contact with to let you know.
However, due to the number of new suppliers and the difficulty in tracking all of them, it may be a good idea for you check your account regularly to see if your supplier and tariff have been added.0 -
The CheapEnergyClub doesn’t show the whole of market despite the grandiose and reassuring claims on their website which are demonstrably wrong and misleading.I queried lack of Symbio with CEC and the answer was pretty much tough !
To be fair they may strive to keep things up to date, however, there is no caveat of annotation to warn customers that their “Full Market Comparison” is possibly not as “Full” as they purport it to be.
Anyone relying solely on MSE’s Cheap Energy Club is in danger of being sold down the river,...and I suspect a number of trusting souls have been.
I lost faith in the CEC some time ago.0 -
I always use multiple comparison sites before switching, so it quickly becomes obvious if one site is missing certain tariffs. At which point the bookmark for that site gets deleted. I think I used CEC once.....!0

Interesting, I presumed the CEC showed all the market and was the best price comparison being linked to MSE?
My OVO 2 Year Fixed Energy (all online) 01 September 2017 comes to an end 3rd October, all the proposed deals from CEC are higher and have 1 year fixed max for the cheapest ones, just wondering which price comparisons people are using to find the best deals?
I am looking to switch now as I am into my last 60 days of this deal, so the £60 exit fee should not apply now.
